The fast tracking of planned road safety changes designed to improve overseas visitors driving experiences has been welcomed by Jacqui Dean, MP for Waitaki.

Mrs Dean said the measures announced by Associate Transport Minister Craig Foss at Queenstown today (Mar 5) would go a long way to enhance all road user's experiences.

Waitaki MP Jacqui Dean said she encouraged Southern farmers and businesses to consider contributing to the Southern Dairy Hub venture.

“DairyNZ and AgResearch having pledged $10 million, although that funding is contingent on local support, with about $2 million needed locally to get the venture off the ground.

Last week the Government decided to deploy a non-combat military training mission to Iraq as our contribution to the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Up to 143 New Zealand personnel will join the two-year mission, working behind the wire to train Iraqi Security Forces to be better able to fight ISIL.
