Attending Canadian Parliament and Commonwealth Parliamentary Association seminar
Waitaki MP Jacqui Dean said she was honoured to represent our country in Ottawa this week, when she takes part in a Canadian Parliament and Commonwealth Parliamentary Association seminar.
“MP’s from all over the Commonwealth will meet together with a focus on strengthening democracy.
“I am honoured to be attending this event and will represent this country with pride.
“I am also looking forward to meeting other MP’s, building relationships and sharing information and experiences.
“Over the course of the seminar, MPs will have the opportunity to discuss important topics that underpin parliamentary democracy and the fundamental principles expressed in the Commonwealth Charter.
“I also hope to put this seminar to use for the benefit of the people of my electorate by returning to parliament with new ideas and tools on how to more effective representative my constituents.”
While in Ottawa Mrs Dean said she would also meet with MP and Chair of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights Andrew Housefather and with the New Zealand High Commission.
