Waitaki MP Jacqui Dean says education is the key to the future for our children and parents in the Waitaki electorate can play their part in enhancing the opportunities on offer for their children by standing for the upcoming school board of trustee elections.

“Boards hold overall responsibility for the governance of a school. They set goals, determine strategic direction, and monitor the school’s performance.

“But more than that, they play an intrinsic role in working with the school’s community to ensure that the educational needs of children are met.

“Board members work hard for our kids, dealing with issues from health and safety, to employing new staff.

“If you believe you have something to offer our children and our schools, I would encourage you to stand at the up-coming elections. Nominations are open until 20 May.”
