Dean – Encourages Waitaki DC to make Broadband infrastructure submission
Waitaki MP Jacqui Dean said the Waitaki District Council had the chance to influence the future development of broadband infrastructure in the area.
“The Government is calling for submissions from local authorities, who have identified opportunities where broadband use can be enhanced for residents and businesses in their area.
“The information received from councils and communities will be important in deciding the amount, type and location of infrastructure to be deployed in phase two of the Government's Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) and Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI).
“Technology is dramatically improving the way we do business and in an area like North Otago allows the community to connect with the world.
“I would encourage the Waitaki District Council to promote the IT innovation that’s already happening in the region and ensure that North Otago’s voice is heard when it comes to future broadband development by making a submission.”
